Take control of your serial devices with Vlinx VESR321 Hardened Ethernet Serial Servers. Made for demanding applications, these rugged gateways allow you to directly access legacy RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 devices through your network. Different modes of operation allow Direct IP connectivity using TCP/IP or UDP/IP socket connections, Virtual COM Port drivers, or Paired Mode allowing direct connection of two serial devices via the network. A handy Ethernet pass through port allows you to connect other Ethernet devices to the network.
Made for harsh environments, the servers have three way isolation to prevent ground loops and surges from damaging expensive equipment. They come standard with DIN Rail and Panel Mounting hardware. They are Heavy Industrial EN61000-6-2 rated with a wide (-)40 to 80 C operating temperature and they accept power from 10 to 48 VDC through a terminal block or screw down barrel plug. The VESR321 with two copper Ethernet ports is suitable for NEMA TS2 installations.
Easy to use Vlinx Manager software puts access to your whole shop right on your desktop. Configure your serial devices, upgrade firmware and monitor activity from a single location. The data ports are isolated from one another and also from the power supply.
Multiple fiber optic options make integration into any existing network quick and easy. Choose from Multi-mode LC and Single-mode LC.
Heartbeat connectivity keeps the serial server on-line. If connectivity is lost it attempts to reconnect every five seconds until a connection is regained. A manual reboot is not required when communications are restored.
