This is achieved by sending the signal over a single Cat5e/6 cable which provides a more flexible and cable managable solution for anyone who wants longer distances fot HDMI.

These extenders have a maximum range of 50 metres over cat5e/6, in addition to the recommended 5 metre HDMI cables for input and output, this gives a total distance of 60 metres.
