The simple setup and installation combined with multi-interface (RS-232/422/485) support, makes a CSE-D9M1/D9S1 converter a simple tool to easily migrate short-ranged serial devices to Fiber-based networks. By deploying CSE-D9M1/D9S1 converters, users can retain and continue to make investments in low cost serial devices while enjoying longer ranged, economical Fiber links.

Featuring a multi-interface DB-9 connector (RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485), the CSE-D9M1/D9S1 series media converter family is the right solution when reliably linking remote terminals to host computers is required. They are perfect in such applications as manufacturing process control and security applications. Each unit offers economical, transport of serial data over Ethernet fiber networks with extended distance of up to 60km (single-mode fiber), along with a simple setup and installation.

Flexibility – The CSE-D9M1/D9S1 series facilitates integration of fiber cabling anywhere within an existing network environment without requiring removal, replacement or modification of the current copper based RS-232/422/485 sensor and control infrastructure.
A terminator DIP Switch is used to simply activate a terminating resistor making the CSE-D9M1/D9S1 series display the illusion or characteristics of an infinite line thereby creating a true multi-drop network.
