The Cisco Cius™ mobile collaboration device (Figure 1) is an Android-based platform built for business. Cius™ is designed to help organizations capitalize on the mobile, social, visual, and virtual needs of businesses today in the post-PC era by enabling anywhere, anytime access to secure business-critical communications, collaboration, and computing features from a single ultraportable device.
The main attributes of Cisco Cius include:
- Seven-inch design built to bring mobility to the business with a choice of wired Gigabit Ethernet connectivity through an optional high-definition (HD) media station, IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, and optional fourth-generation (4G) mobile data service (4G Cius (CIUS-7-AT-K9) available in US only)
- Support for Cisco Unified Communications features, devices, and applications management and security policies from Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.1.5 or 8.5.1 and later with system releases
- A contacts-led user experience that provides multimodal, single-view access to communications and collaboration features, through a Quick Contact Badge, offering you flexibility in your choice of collaboration methods
- HD video (H.264/AVC, 720p [1280 x 720] @ 30 frames per second [fps]) front- and rear-facing video cameras and interoperability with Cisco and third-party H.264 video endpoints including Cisco TelePresence® systems and Cisco TelePresence System EX Series endpoints
- Support for workspace virtualization (Virtual Experience Infrastructure [VXI]) thin clients for cost-effective and secure virtualized computing, voice, and video communications
- Integrated suites of collaborative applications: Cisco WebEx® conferencing, Cisco Jabber™ Instant Messaging (IM), presence, email, calendar, contacts, visual voicemail, and voice and video through Cisco Unified Communications Manager
- Access to the Cisco AppHQ™ Marketplace for secure mobile business-differentiated applications, IT controls for determining user access to Android Marketplaces, and mobile applications cost management, as standard
