The Cisco Edge 340 Series Digital Media Player is a new digital media player (DMP) that delivers next-generation
digital media experiences (Figure1). With its hardware-based media-acceleration capability, it supports up to two
simultaneous high-definition (HD) video streams and comprehensive sets of content formats that enable various
digital signage applications. It supports both passive and interactive signage with touch and multi-touch
capabilities. It provides a rich set of peripheral extensions, such as extendable storage, USB, RS-232, infrared (IR)
with remote controller, and Wi-Fi, to support very flexible deployment options and extended use cases. It also
supports simplified deployment with unified content and device management, and Power over Ethernet (PoE).
Compared with other PC-based alternatives, the Cisco Edge 340 Digital Media Player delivers the benefits of
robustness, reliability, and power-consumption efficiency.
Cisco Edge 340 Digital Media Players have both wireless and non-wireless versions; the wireless version supports
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functions.
