SFS 3500 IB to Ethernet Gateway with 6x 1G ports The Cisco SFS-3500-ENGW-1G Ethernet gateway is a 6-port, 1 Gbps per-port capable, full-duplex InfiniBand-to-Ethernet gateway card for the Cisco SFS 3504 Server Switch chassis. The gateway acts as a bridge between IB and Ethernet networks and forwards traffic from one interface to the other in either direction. IP traffic, encapsulated in IB packets, coming from IB hosts are forwarded to the Ethernet ports, and Ethernet traffic, coming from Ethernet ports, are encapsulated into IB packets and forwarded to the IB fabric. The Cisco SFS 3504 chassis supports between one and four Ethernet gateway cards.
