Wireless Broadband Router with QoS, 802.11g
Wireless Broadband Network Access with Advanced QoS and Bandwidth Control
LevelOne is introducing a multi-functional Wireless Broadband Router that provides shared broadband Internet access to LAN users through its 4 port switching hub at 10/100BaseT connection speeds and through it’s 802.11g, backward compliant with 802.11b, Wireless station.
The newly released WBR-3408 router now incorporates additional advanced features and has been carefully designed to provide greater sophisticated functionality with an easier to use interface.
With added QoS (Quality of Service) functionality, the WBR-3408 Wireless Broadband Router can now be easily deployed within a network where VoIP, Streaming Video and other Multimedia applications require higher bandwidth priority than normal Internet data traffic.
Advanced Functionality
The WBR-3408 provides several important new features that provide improved Internet connectivity. It provides support for Telephony, and Conferencing applications, Interactive Gaming applications and several other Internet communication applications which are often difficult to use when behind a Firewall. Connection ports can now be defined to allow all applications access to the Internet.
It also provides VPN Pass-through support for PPTP, L2TP and IPSec without the need for any additional configuration. The set-up and use of Virtual Servers with DDNS Support has also been made quick and easy, with URL Filtering, Internet Access Logging and LAN Access Control as being additional features.
Secured High-Speed Wireless Internet Access
The WBR-3408 Wireless Broadband router is IEEE802.11g compliant that connects at 54Mbps and backward compatible with the IEEE802.11b (11Mbps) standard. With wireless security a serious issue, LevelOne is now incorporating several important security features.
The WBR-3408 provides support for WEP key sizes of 64 and 128-bit with WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK support that is more secure that WEP. The Wireless MAC Access Control provides only network access to trusted Wireless devices when they connect to the LAN. The default settings of the WBR-3408 provide an already secured connection, although these settings can be quickly and easy changed to suit the needs of the network.
For additional support, the WBR-3408 monitors and filters all incoming data packets, protecting the LAN network from malicious as well as DoS attacks.
