The CRU RTX221-3QR is ideal for backup and external storage requirements for workgroups of all kinds, as well as SMB and home office environments. With its USB 3.0/2.0, eSATA, and FireWire 800 connectivity options, the RTX221-3QR provides fast backup or external storage for many kinds of applications. Users have a choice of setting up the RTX221-3QR as a RAID1 mirror, so data is automatically and simultaneously written to both drives, or as a large RAID0 volume to create a speedy solution that incorporates both drives into a single storage volume.
The RTX221-3QR blends the convenience of a small, portable desktop RAID storage enclosure with the proven reliability of the DataPort10 drive carriers. Their rugged all-aluminum construction provides superior protection and cooling. CRU's reliability testing has determined the DataPort 10 connectors can withstand over 30,000 insertions without failure or degradation of signal quality.
The RTX221-3QR is available with an optional latched bay (no key required), which allows quick and easy access to remove or insert a drive carrier. The other bay locks to ensure the drive is not accidentally removed so data will remain secure. The RTX221-3QR can be configured via its easy-to-use interface on the device itself, or through a host computer and CRU's configuration software. In addition to setting the RAID level, users can customize the settings for visual and audible temperature alarms, including what temperature triggers the alarms, and when to turn the fans on.
