SCOUTutp Multi-platform kvm switch 8 port, 1600 x 1200, 85Hz, PS/2, USB, Black
KVM Switch - UTP CAT5 Cabling
KVM Switch with simple UTP cabling for PS/2, USB and SUN platforms. Control up to 16 PCs with one keyboard, one monitor and one mouse. The UTP / STP cabling allows the computers to be up to 20m away from the switch.
How it works
The SCOUTutp is an efficient KVM switch solution for PS/2, USB and SUN PCs. UTP / STP cable and our CPU Adpators reduce the need of expensive cable installation and allows you to easily change configurations. If your hardware changes you can change the adaptor without needing to rewire the rack. Ideal for changing environments. Connect the keyboard, monitor and mouse directly to the switch and the adaptors to the PCs. All that remains is to connect a UTP cable between adaptor and the switch. The controlling console must be PS/2 style, ie, a ps/2 keyboard and mouse and a VGA screen. (Even when Sun or USB machines are attached - the switch will translate all signals into PS/2 compatible.) It's that easy.
As an alternative to the OSD, the Scout UTP can also be operated using the Control Software. A coms port on the Scout UTP (RJ11) allows the switch to be connected to a serial port on a PC. With the Control Software, you can view the status of each port, edit the OSD settings, Create and save configurations, upload the configuration information to the Scout UTP, upgrade firmware as well as switch channels.
