VigorSwitch G1240 Gigabit Ethernet Switch - 24 Gigabit Ethernet Ports, 4 SFP, QoS, 802.1x The VigorSwitch G1240 is a high-performance Gigabit Ethernet switch. It provides extensive facilities for maximising your LAN performance and also increasing security security, including VLAN groups (port or tag based) as well as QoS priorisation and traffic/bandwidth control. The G1240 is also compact, only 170mm deep, ideal for a crowded comms cabinet (it's a standard 19" rack in width). Rack mounting brackets are included or the unit can be used on a desk/shelf. The G1240 has four SFP (Fibre Module) ports. In comparison to 'copper' (RJ45), using fibre for uplinks provides longer range and reliience from electrical interference. Each of the four ports can be used instead of the corresponding copper port (Ports 21,22,23 and 24). The SFP port provides compatibility with your choice of SFP module and therefore the most appropriate fibre technology for your application.
