RoamAbout Wireless PC Card
802.11a/b/g Compliance for Complete Interoperability
A RoamAbout wireless LAN is made of two primary components: the RoamAbout access point— a full-function switch that connects to your wired LAN by UTP Ethernet connections— and a wireless PC card, which uses radio frequencies to transmit data signals to clients working on desktop PCs, industry-standard notebook PCs or handheld devices.
Designed to ensure access to all the standards the RoamAbout access point supports, the RoamAbout multimode client PC card enables users of IEEE 802.11a-, 802.11b-and 802.11g-compliant wireless products to integrate all compliant devices easily, providing total interoperability and making wireless communication effortless. Clients using the multimode PC card are able to roam from cell to cell regardless of the transmission frequency as long as they are authorized users of the network.
The multimode wireless PC card has a 32-bit CardBus interface. Compliance with 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g ensures speeds of up to 54 Mbps, in addition to vendor interoperability, seamless integration and investment protection.
