DisplayPort and USB extender over three CAT-7 cables up to 100 feet (30 meters)
Extend DisplayPort and USB over three CAT-7 cables up to 100 feet (30 meters)
The DisplayPort KVM Extender over CAT-7 allows the installation of a Hi-Def display, keyboard, mouse, and other USB peripherals up to 100 feet (30 meters) away from a computer, using two or three CAT-7 cables. Resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) or 1080p Full HD when using two CAT-7 cables, and up to 2560 x 1600 (WQXGA) when using three cables can be supported. HDCP is also supported. When using USB 2.0, 480 Mbps data rates are supported. This extender is also backward compatible with USB 1.1.
How It Works
Connect the included DisplayPort cable from the computer to the DisplayPort input of the Sender unit. Connect the included USB cable from the computer's USB Host Interface port to the Sender unit. Connect the Receiver unit to a Hi-Def display using a DisplayPort cable. Connect a keyboard, a mouse, or another USB peripheral to the two USB ports on the Receiver unit. Connect the Sender unit to the Receiver unit using two or three CAT-7 cables, depending on the maximum required video resolution. First, connect the supplied 5V DC power supplies with locking connectors to the Sender and Receiver units. Then, connect them to available electrical outlets. Turn on the power to the computer, the display, and any connected USB device that is externally powered.
Note: This product extends DisplayPort video only. It does not support audio.
