AmpliTube 3 is the only guitar and bass tone software that gives you the ability to add gear to your virtual collection one piece at a time. This is our Custom Shop feature and it’s truly visionary because now you can buy only the gear you want or need. And we’re constantly adding new gear to the mix with more hardware manufacturers partnering with us to bring their gear to your virtual world. Pretty awesome when you think about it — just like shopping at your music store, but you get to try the gear for 72 hours before you buy it, and there’s no sales guy pressuring you.

AmpliTube 3 can be used as a sophisticated multi-effects processor in its standalone version that you can integrate into your live rig thanks to its instantaneous preset switching. AmpliTube is also a plug-in for your DAW for live tracking or re-amping guitar and bass tracks, or for having an arsenal of vintage and modern effects to apply also on synthesizers and instruments, vocals, drum tracks and more.

<b>There’s an AmpliTube for you</b>
AmpliTube 3 is available as full version (with 160 gear models included) or free version (with 24 gear models), or in special dedicated collection versions of the Powered by AmpliTube family like Amplitube Slash, AmpliTube Metal and AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™ Anniversary Collection (AmpliTube Metal and the original AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™ models are included in the full version — the new models from the AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix Anniversary Collection are available from the Custom Shop). We also offer branded versions like AmpliTube Orange®, AmpliTube Fender® or Ampeg® SVX. All these versions share the same framework of features and functionalities, but with different collections of gear. Plus you can add any gear to the version you choose via the Custom Shop feature currently with over 250 gear models and more added frequently, such as the new models from Engl®.

<b>How it works</b>
Chances are, you already know how it works. We designed AmpliTube 3 to be so familiar and intuitive in its operation that you don’t really need a manual or an engineering degree to operate it (we do, however provide a manual, just not an engineering degree). Here’s how it works…

<b>Get connected</b>
To use AmpliTube as a tone machine for guitar or bass, you have to connect your guitar to your computer. You do this with what’s called an “audio interface” (we make some really good ones, click here to check them out). Once connected AmpliTube gives you the exact signal chain you’d use live and/or in studio: tuner —> pedalboards —> amp heads —> speaker cabs —> mics with room effects —> rack effects. Plus, you can configure two complete rigs and run in stereo.

<b>Signal chain</b>
There are also eight different series/parallel “routing” options available that give you total signal chain control, allowing you to configure tones for every possible playing scenario. You can select different configurations on the fly as you see fit: dual pedal boards running into a single amp head split to two cabs, with different mic sets for each, running into a single rack with a compressor and graphic eq, just as an example. The combinations are endless.

<b>Speaker, mic and room control</b>
AmpliTube 3 features an incredibly detailed cabinet, microphone and room module, which lets you virtually recreate your favorite recording space. You can mic your cabinet with two mics and freely place the mics around the speaker to find the “sweet” spot. You can also control the mix between mic 1 and mic 2, and change the overall “depth” of the cabinet itself. Then, you can control the room reflection and ambience utilizing the room-mic positioning tool. All the mic placement options are freely movable (just click and drag), so making adjustments to the room vibe is a breeze.

<b>Presets – the key to live performance</b>
The entire AmpliTube chain can be easily saved, organized and recalled through the advanced built-in preset browser. Presets can be tagged and stored using a series of searchable, user-defined keywords and attributes. Plus, the online Preset XChange service allows users to post and share presets they create, with a growing community of AmpliTube users.

You can save presets for a single piece of gear, or for a complete signal chain. Presets can be organized and stored in up to 4,000 patch locations, in banks of A-B-C-D patches, making AmpliTube ideal for using live with MIDI floor controller pedalboards.

<b>Universal MIDI control</b>
You can control AmpliTube live using IK dedicated guitar and bass interface and controllers such as StompIO or StealthPedal with direct programming of the controller using AmpliTube graphical interface, or you can quickly configure it to be used with any traditional MIDI controller by quickly associating patches to MIDI program changes and knobs, switches, pedals to MIDI continuous controller, using the included MIDI learn function.

<b>High-resolution sound</b>
AmpliTube can work as a 64-bit plug-in for the most popular DAW (such as Pro Tools, Logic, GarageBand, Cubase, Live, Reaper) or can be used in stand-alone mode in Mac OS X and Windows. The plug-in and standalone versions offer the same function and sound, but the standalone version also offers a built-in four-track recorder so you can capture your ideas at the moment of inspiration. Both the standalone and plug-in versions are included when you install AmpliTube. Rock On!
