iMcV-Gigabit: 1000 Mbps Gigabit UTP to Fiber
The iMcV-Gigabit series of SNMP manageable Media Converters performs a physical layer conversion between 1000Base-T and 1000Base-SX or LX networks, extending network distances up to 70Km. Supporting multi-mode, single-mode and single-strand fiber types, iMcV-Gigabit converters are ideal for multiple applications involving Gigabit Ethernet within the premises LAN and service provider network infrastructures.
For example, use iMcV-Gigabit to connect Gigabit backbone switches to the fiber optic riser or horizontal cabling in the LAN. Service providers can provide high-speed Ethernet private line services to business customers byusing iMcV-Gigabit Media Converters on both ends of the local loop to perform the conversion between twisted pair and fiber.
iMcV-Gigabit series modules are SNMP manageable with free our iView² management application software, or with any popular SNMP software such as HP OpenView™.
iView² software features an easy-to-use and intuitive Graphical User Interface that enables the configuring, monitoring and managing of installed media modules from a central location. Via iView² network managers can receive real-time unit and port status information, as well as configure individual modules for various features.
iView² also include automatic updates for software and device firmware, and event/trap management for IMC Networks' and other manufacturers' devices installed in the network. iView² runs standalone on Windows NT/XP/2000; as a standalone Java Application for other operating systems; as a plug-in module for HP OpenView; as a Web Server running under IIS or as a Java Web Servlet.
iMcV-Gigabit series modules install into IMC Networks MediaChassis, iMediaCenter and iMediaChassis platforms.
