<b>iMcV-T1/E1/J1-LineTerm w/ Config Control</b>
The iMcV-T1/E1/J1-LineTerm Series are SNMP manageable modules that convert copper-based circuits (T1/E1/J1) to a single-mode or multi-mode fiber signal, extending the distance of data transmissions over networks up to 80 km. The iMcV-T1/E1/J1-LineTerm converters are perfect for service providers and enterprise campus networks utilizing T1/E1/J1 copper lines.
The iMcV-T1/E1/J1-LineTerm SFP requires one MSA compliant fiber optic SFP module (sold seperately) to operate. Copper SFPs are not supported. IMC Networks offers a full range of compatible SFPs. For more information, go to the IMC Networks SFP product page.
<b>Line Termination Functionality</b>
This module performs the standard "Line Termination" (GR-820-CORE) function of TDM-based line signals. This function transmits an Alarm Indication Signal (AIS) on the line whenever a received signal is lost. Line faults can easily be isolated to one line section and do not propagate over multiple-line sections as they do with normal line repeaters.
<b>Hot-Swappable</b>
Hot-swappable, iMcV-T1/E1/J1-LineTerm modules significantly reduce operation costs by allowing other modules within the same conversion chassis to remain up and running during network upgrades and maintenance. iMcV-T1/E1/J1-LineTerm modules install in any iMediaChassis or MediaChassis series.
<b>Convenient DIP Switch Configuration</b>
This converter series features a protocol-selectable operation to easily choose between T1/J1 and E1 rates via DIP switches located on the board. In addition, a DTE/DCE switch is conveniently located on the front of the unit to simplify cable connections.
<b>Powerful Testing and Troubleshooting Features</b>
To aid in network testing and troubleshooting, the T1/E1/J1-LineTerm features three different loopback test modes: copper loopback, fiber loopback and internal fiber loopback, to allow easy isolation of cable faults. The module also features a Transmit Data Source diagnostic tool which allows operators to choose from three specific patterns of data to identify transmission problems: transmit unframed all ones, transmit a pattern of alternating ones and zeros, and transmit a Pseudorandom Bit Sequence. In addition, the modules have built-in PRBS signal receivers, to simplify testing. All test modes are configurable remotely via iView SNMP software or locally through DIP switches on the units.
<b>Easy Remote Management and Configuration</b>
The iMcV-T1/E1/J1-LineTerm is easy to install, configure and manage with the iView SNMP application software, or with any other SNMP application such as HP OpenView. iView runs: standalone on Windows NT/XP/2000 or as a Web Server running under IIS. The advantage of remote management allows the network manager to monitor, configure and troubleshoot units located at the customer site without having to access the remote network. Furthermore, because the remote management technology is not in-band, the T1/E1/J1 converters transmit data at full bit rate while remaining transparent to data channels.
iMcV-T1/E1/J1-LineTerm modules are deployed in pairs (one at each end of a fiber line). The data transmitted on the fiber ports can only be received and interpreted by another iMcV-T1/E1/J1-LineTerm unit.
