Aeneon DDR2 2GB 667MHz CL5 AENEON Fully Buffered DIMMs are assembled using the best components our DRAM production offers. Those components and the testing concept, utilized to produce and test AENEON Fully Buffered DIMMs, are tailored to perfectly match the high reliability requirements of server applications. On a FB DIMM module the memory components are isolated from the memory interface behind a buffer on the module.

This device is called AMB: Advanced Memory Buffer. The single chip component, located in the center of each module acts as a repeater and buffer for all signals and commands exchanged between the host controller and the DDR2 SDRAMs including data in- and output. Compared to the Registered DIMM memory bus architecture, FB DIMMs apply a high-speed differential point to point connection.
