6.35 cm (2.5 ") SATA to SAS Converter Board The addition of 2.5" SATA solid-state drive (SSD) and non-SSD SATA hard disk drive (HDD) support enables HDDs with SATA interfaces (native SATA and SSD) to be accessed by both storage control modules. This new feature also enables mixing drive technologies in SAN (all drives must be the same within a specific storage pool) and changes the activity LEDs to match Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) HDDs.
2.5" SSD and SATA Support includes:
- AXXTM3SATA Accessory
- Support for native SATA and SSD hard drives
- Must use new MFSYS25 chassis (MM#902318) when using SATA HDDs or replace power supplies and I/O fan module with newer parts¹
- Support for mixing drive technologies in SAN (all drives must be the same within a specific storage pool)
