A SATA enclosure like no other, the Taurus LAN offers the latest in network attached storage technology. Workstations connected to the same network have access to the Taurus's massive dual bay storage space. Plus, with 2 available USB host ports, any attached USB device is also accessible on the network. Used in conjunction with BitTorrent™, the Taurus LAN can be set to download media files from the Internet and save it onto its internal SATA hard drives. With powerful RAID technology, all your downloaded media and data files can be safely backed up. The Taurus LAN leads the pack with innovative design and incredible performance.
2-Bay SATA Hard Drive Storage
Massive storage with shock and vibration protection to keep the noise to a minimum and your data safe. Depending on your preferences, RAID 1 can provide total data protection by mirroring your files to the second hard drive or RAID 0 can utilise both hard drives to maximize data transfer speed and increase storage capacity.
Network Attached Storage (10/100/1000)
Multiple users can access the Taurus LAN to share and exchange files via Gigabit Ethernet connection. Set up shared folders and let users access the files via local network connection using SMB or FTP. For admins, the web interface offers useful tools such as user and share management, plus system and network logs to let you manage the Taurus with ease.
Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) & Bonjour
The Taurus LAN provides seamless connection to your home network and easy setup with the help of Bonjour and the UPnP network protocol. Simply access "My Network Places", browse for the network attached storage device, click on it to open and you are in the game, that's it! The service discovery protocol Bonjour also offers support for iTunes.
Media Download Management
Used in conjunction with its built-in BitTorrent™ client, the Taurus LAN can be set to download media files from the Internet and have it saved directly to the internal SATA hard drives. You can then turn off your computer and go about other things (like sleeping!) and when you come back, you will have all kinds of new media files to enjoy.
USB Backup
The Taurus comes with two additional USB host ports for USB storage devices and USB printers. Use the backup function as a convenient way to quickly copy your files from the external USB drive to the internal SATA hard drives or use the printer server to share your USB printer on the local network.
