In the water, the deeper you go, the more bluer everything becomes. This is because water absorbs light from the red side of the spectrum first - in the order of red, orange, yellow, green, then blue. So red colours disappear at shallow depths, then orange, yellow and so forth.
But there's a simple way to capture cool underwater movies.
ISAW has an 'Aqua mode' which will compensate for this loss of color in the water by automatically adjusting white balance, to deliver beautiful underwater images without an external strobe.
