DVD-System DVR 50
Design
The core of our Jamo 2F solutions, the incredible DVR 50 houses a digital amplifier, AM/FM RDS radio, DVD/CD player and digital surround-sound processor, all in the same cabinet. And, for the first time ever, combining everything in the same cabinet actually makes sense because it allows synchronisation between the DVD player and the digital amplifier, minimising sound corrupting distortion.
The Jamo DVR 50 is the world's first DVD receiver with PAL/NTSC Progressive Scan and DivX. DivX allows you to play downloaded movies that have been burnt to a CD-Rom. And thanks to Progressive Scan, you can count on flicker-free pictures.
The digital amplifier technology in the DVR 50 has been developed in co-operation with the team who designed the high-end TacT Millennium digital hi-fi amplifier. Naturally, this means the absolute ultimate in sound quality – especially when it's mated to a matching loudspeaker system.
The DVR 50 was designed with a distinctly Scandinavian look to match the A 3_5 and A 7 speakers, and visually harmonize with the A 2, A 4 and A 5 products. We think the result speaks for itself. Danish design ... Danish developed.
Formats
The DVD drive of Jamo DVR 50 accepts practically any optical medium available on the market today, from normal CDs to CD-R/RW as well as the latest DVD-R/-RW and DVD+R/+RW discs. Formats from MP3 to JPEG (photo CDs) and the new DivX format are also supported
Technology
Full digital amplifier eliminates quality-sapping D/A and A/D conversion and thus keeps all signal processing in the digital domain, maintaining the absolute highest level of sound quality. Because the full digital open-loop (non-feedback) amplifier is integrated with the DVD player, the same master clock controls both. The advantage is extremely low jitter, improving sonic imaging, transparency and minimising distortion.
Sigma chip
Thanks to the innovative Sigma chip, the DVR 50 can also be easily upgraded with new features during its lifetime.
Ease of use
Easy set-up / operation
Setting up the DVR 50 is easy. The factory default settings are based on our vast experience of what settings provide the best sound in most set-ups.However, it is also possible to go into a more advanced set-up menu to fine-tune the sound to personal preferences. The basics are all taken care of though: just follow the quick on-screen set-up guide where pictures prompt you to select a language, choose 16:9 or 4:3 picture format, and finally decide on the connection to be used between the DVR 50 and the TV.
Day-to-day operation is equally logical: whether playing the radio, CD or DVD, the DVR 50 always selects the appropriate mode automatically.
Ergonomic Remote
The remote control of the DVR 50 reflects Jamo's determination to make the unit simple and logical to operate in everyday use. For instance, there are dedicated buttons for functions that are used daily, organized for easy use. So the up/down volume buttons, for example, are easy to find in the darkness of a home theatre. For less frequently used functions, the user simply activates the list button for access to all the advanced features. Easy, simple ... the way it should be.
