For many years, our most requested new product was a Kanteen with a jar-sized mouth that could be used as an alternative to polycarbonate and other plastic outdoor bottles; the Klean Kanteen® Wide is our answer, and it's designed to go anywhere and do anything. The popularity of these field rated Kanteens continues to grow as hikers, backpackers, kayakers, sailors and other outdoor enthusiasts have discovered their utility.

While the Kanteen Wide is perfectly at home in your daily routine, it's equally suited for serious adventure. The 2.125" wide-mouth opening and threads are compatible with most backcountry water filters and UV sterilization devices. The stainless steel construction also allows the Kanteen itself to be sterilized in boiling water. Though we do not recommend the practice, we have heard of Kanteen's being used to boil water in survival situations... don't try that with a plastic bottle. Made from 18/8, food-grade stainless steel, the material is safe, toxin-free and doesn't retain or impart flavors. No matter how many times you refill it, no matter what you put into it, it will keep your drinks fresh, crisp and clean tasting.
