With the DiMAGE X1, prints can be enlarged to around A4 size with the same 300-dpi resolution as film photos, and to around A3 size at 200 dpi.

The DiMAGE X1 features a CCD that's one size larger than those in previous
models. This helps reduce the noise that results from higher image sensor resolution. The CCD package itself is also smaller, giving the DiMAGE X1 body a slimmer profile.

Extensive design considerations were made by Konica Minolta when creating the DiMAGE X1. The DiMAGE X1 introduces a newly designed "flat" 3x optical zoom lens (35mm equivalent: 37 to 111mm) that bends the incoming light 90 degrees, allowing the zoom operation to take place inside the camera. The lens doesn't protrude when zooming, so the camera maintains its slim, stylish form. The DiMAGE X1 also adds a digital 4x zoom, so you get a total of up to 12x zoom power.

The DiMAGE X1 can record smooth, high-resolution VGA

(640 x 480 pixels) movie at 20 frames per second with sound. Electronic Anti-Shake technology helps ensure clear, sharp pictures, while autofocus mode lets you simply concentrate on the shooting. You can use the 3x optical zoom to capture closer shots with no image degradation. The DiMAGE X1 even has a Night Movie function for use in dim lighting

The DiMAGE X1 introduces a new anti-shake system that moves the lens unit according to camera shake during handheld shooting. The new mechanism is smaller than the conventional CCD-shift mechanisms. And, unlike many lens- shift systems, it causes no degradation in optical performance.

The large 2.5-inch LCD makes it easy to frame shots, check small details and read the menu screen. A separate play button is provided for quick playback. Just take a shot and press the button, and everyone can enjoy the crisp, clear, easy-to-view images the large LCD provides.
Also, the LCD is protected by an acrylic panel that reduce scratching. The panel is easy to wipe clean of fingerprints and smudges too, so you always get a good, clear view.

The DiMAGE X1's LCD is about 50% brighter than our previous LCD. In ordinary conditions, use the standard brightness setting to minimize power consumption. But in strong sunlight, you can boost the brightness with a simple press of a button for easy viewing outdoors.

To enable the transfer of images, the multifunctional cradle easily connects to a PC via a single USB port. Viewing images on a large-screen TV is also possible. Connect the DiMAGE X1 to any PictBridge compatible printer and you can even print photos without using a PC. Furthermore, it can recharge the lithium-ion battery while in the camera or out. Lastly, the cradle’s design is a stylish complement to the DiMAGE X1’s streamlined body.
