Lexmark USB/Parallel 1284-C Interface Card interface cards/adapter

USB & PARALLEL INTERFACE NS (MSD) The USB/Parallel 1284-C Interface card installs into a printer's PCI-based, Internal Solutions Port and provides a USB port and a 1284-C parallel port. The card is supported for use with Lexmark C720, Optra C710, Optra Color 45, Optra M410, Optra M412, Optra T printers and Optra W810. This option contains a 2 meter USB cable. A Parallel 1284-C cable is not included.

USB printer connections are supported with Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Sun Ray appliances running Sun Ray Server code version 1.2 or later, Sun Blade workstations, and Apple Mac OS 8.6 or later with LaserWriter 8.5.1 or later and Desktop Printer Utility version 1.2 or later.

The USB interface offers data transfer rates of 12 Megabits (Mb) per second compared to parallel's 8 Megabit (1 Megabyte) transfer rate based on the assumption that only one device is connected to a USB port. Since USB devices share the bandwidth of the USB bus, transfer rates may vary depending upon the other devices attached.
