Design Goal: To build a Bluetooth version of our USB The Mouse, that offers the same Apple-like look, and the same multi-button functionality, just with a world-class Bluetooth wireless system, instead of USB. Make it in both white and 'AL' versions, to match nicely with the look of any modern Apple computer system.

Welcome to 21st century mousing, and the new The Mouse BT, from MacMice! Using dependable Bluetooth wireless technology, this powerhouse of a mouse combines elegant design, world-class engineering and construction, and plug-and-play compatibility with a wide range of modern Macs and PC's.

The Mouse BT may not be the first Bluetooth wireless mouse to hit the market; but, it benefits from the late arrival by improving many of the annoying shortcomings that are present in earlier BT mice. Cursor lag, long reactivation delays, unexpected disconnects... all of these are improved in The Mouse BT.

With thousands of email requests received from our customers, asking for a Bluetooth wireless version of our market-leading USB The Mouse, we made it our mission to create the absolute best answer possible: The Mouse BT.


The Features You Asked For

The Mouse BT is available with either bright-white or silver-aluminum inner shell; both versions have the stylish clear acrylic outer shell, with the same subtle split-shell upper surface as our USB The Mouse. This design permits having as little disruption to the clean design lines of the mouse as possible, but still enables accurate multi-button operation. The Mouse BT has 800cpi tracking resolution; a fast, responsive optical tracking mechanism; a power conserving on-off switch; a simple to use connection button; and, it runs for weeks on two AA alkaline batteries (included). We have tried to build the best Bluetooth wireless mouse on the market, and, we believe that we've succeeded.

If you wish, you may use The Mouse BT just with the OEM mouse support in either Windows XP (SP 2) or Mac OS X (10.2.8+). But, if you are a Mac user running OS X 10.3 or higher, you can enjoy all of the features of our industry leading MouseCommand v11 driver software, that provides an amazing array of possible settings for the 3-buttons and the scroll wheel on The Mouse BT (and, in fact, all of our mice and trackballs). We would list the possible settings and adjustments enabled with MouseCommand v11, but, frankly, we'll just state that it's highly improbable that you will want to do something with this mouse that our driver can't handle. If so, just let us know, and we'll add tha feature to our next driver version. If you use Mac OS X Panther 10.3, we have the world's best mouse and trackball driver ready for you to enjoy. MouseCommand v11 is now available as a free download from the right hand column of nearly every page on this web site (or, from our downloads web page). Click it. Install it. Set it up any way you want. Enjoy. It works in OS X 10.3 with any of our USB or Bluetooth wireless input devices. And, it gives you the flexibility to set up your MacMice mouse or trackball any way you want.

The Mouse BT works right out of the box with the built-in OS-level drivers in both Mac OS X (10.2.8+) and Windows XP (SP 2). It is fully compliant with the Bluetooth v1.0 HID device profile, so, it is fully compatible with any Mac OS X or Windows XP system with a built-in Bluetooth transceiver, or that uses any standards compliant Bluetooth USB adapter.. Whether you have built-in Bluetooth, or you use a USB stick-type adapter, if your system supports the v1.0 HID device profile, you can pair it to The Mouse BT.


This Mouse Works Great!

The Mouse BT gives you a standard left button, a right button for Control-Click (contextual menu) functions, an under-the-wheel scroll wheel button for applications that take advantage of that feature (Maya, and others), and a silky smooth-operating, notch-free scroll wheel. If you need more functions, just install our MouseCommand v11 driver (for Mac OS X 10.3+).

You should be aware that the Bluetooth implementation on both the Mac and Windows platform is evolving very rapidly. Apple, especially, is being very aggressive about releasing updates to its OS X platform and to its Bluetooth-specific hardware and software. We absolutely recommend that all Mac-based buyers of The Mouse BT visit the Apple website, and download and install all of the latest Bluetooth updates.
