The inherent features of LED is decidedly the ability of LED to become the best alternative to conventional light sources, and provide a wider range of applications:
<b>Small Size</b>
An LED is essentially a microscopic chip once encapsulated in an epoxy resin are extremely small and light weight.

A newer way to evaluate LED lifetime has been established and adopted by Neo-Neon™ which is based on lumens depreciation and lumens maintenance (LM). These standards have been refined over the past years as well astesting methods to provide consumers with a high degree of confidence in the technology. The LM Standards for LED typically are rated at L50/L70, representing 50,000 to 70,000 hours of lifetime. This represents the point in which the average person would consider the light output not usefull and noticeably less than when originally installed. LM79-08 and LM80-08 standards are applied to the photometric testing of LEOs to ensurethe proper electrical function, thermal management, color temperature stability, and lumens depreciation over time falls within certain parameters. <b>High Luminous - Efficiency and Low heat emitting</b>
Due to the special materials that are used to manufacture LEDsduring electrons transition, LED'smainly emit electromagnetic energy in the visible parts of spectrum.This is unlike incandescent filaments which are heated and emit large amounts of electromagnetic energy in the infrared spectrum which can't be seen and is felt as heat.That isto say, LEDs can convert significantly more of the energy applied into light, and therefore LED shave a higher luminous efficiency with substantially lower amounts of heat produced. This gives LEDs the ability to also greatly impact the energy demands of building air-cooling systems thus adding a secondary energy savings benefit.

LEDs are made from non-toxic materials,unlike fluorescent lights that contain mercury which poses a danger to the environment and human health. LEDs are also recyclable.

The LED semi-conductor chip is completely embedded in an epoxy resin enclosure and often in ceramic pack ages and encapsulated with organic phosphors which is much more sturdy than traditional glassbulbs and fluorescent tubes.They are solid-statetechnology thus no loose and moving parts which makes LEDs virtually indestructible.
