NX-3500 | 350Watt Real Silent Power Supply, 12cm fan The Nexus NX-3500 is equipped with a large 12cm fan which provides sufficient airflow to cool the power supply at very low speed and at a very low noise level. This power supply configuration produces only 19.2 dB(A) in idle mode and will be inaudible when mounted in a computer system as the fan will be located on the inside of the computer case. The NX-3500 has longer power cables.

When we test the noise level we do this in a ISO-certified chamber fore noise tests. It is important to know that the background noise in such a chamber is a little over 15 dB(A). these are the best possible conditions for these tests and hence you should always be aware when a manufacturer is claiming dB(A) values lower then 15 dB(A). Because how were the able to measure this? In this room we measure 19.2DB(A) for the NX-3500 in idle.
