Welcome to Immersive, Affordable Home Theater
For small- to medium-sized rooms, you can’t go past the well-balanced and affordable HT-S3500 home theater package. Newly equipped with Onkyo’s WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology), the AVR and six-speaker set will surprise and delight with audio performance you would expect from a more expensive system. The package is easy to set up right out of the box, thanks to the intuitive HDMI®-overlaid On-Screen Display and wall-mountable speakers. Four HDMI inputs provide connectivity for Blu-ray Disc players and gaming consoles, and there’s an Audio Return Channel to send TV audio through the receiver. Plug your iPod/iPhone into the front-panel USB and enjoy clear, powerful sound with an inbuilt optimizer enhancing the quality of compressed digital music. The AVR decodes Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™, and is ready for 3D games and movies. Perfect for replacing an aging system, or for your first foray into the world of home theater, the package is rounded out with a subwoofer to boost bottom-end sound.
Audio Return Channel and 3D Video via HDMI
Four HDMI inputs allow you to easily integrate high-definition devices such as Blu-ray players, cable/satellite tuners, and gaming consoles. HDMI implementation on this receiver also supports an Audio Return Channel, allowing audio received directly by your TV’s tuner to be sent “upstream” to the A/V receiver. That means you can enjoy television programs in magnificent Onkyo sound. HDMI also supports 3D video and numerous other high-resolution formats, and has the added advantage of reducing cable clutter for a cleaner and simpler install.
Direct Digital iPod/iPhone Connection for Cleaner Sound
The receiver’s front-panel USB port lets you play MP3 and AAC stored on an iPod/iPhone, and MP3, WMA, AAC, and FLAC audio files stored on a flash-memory device using the system’s own remote for track selection and playback. Your music will also sound much cleaner and clearer, as the audio signal is transported in digital form (rather than analog) via the direct digital connection.
WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology) Delivers Higher Fidelity
WRAT is a suite of innovative technologies developed to improve signal-to-noise ratios, and to enhance the fidelity of amplified audio. The technologies work to reduce noise across the frequency range, guaranteeing a well-balanced performance even with the most dynamic soundtracks. It achieves this by employing a low negative-feedback amplifier design; using “closed” ground-loop circuitry to cancel noise from individual circuits; and by ensuring high instantaneous-current capability to cancel reflex energy and impedance fluctuations from the speakers. The WRAT design has made Onkyo AVRs the firm favorite among discerning audio enthusiasts.
