If you're looking to build a killer home theater that won't kill your budget, the MK840 speaker pair is an excellent choice. This ceiling speaker design includes an 8” polypropylene cone woofer with a pivoting 1" titanium tweeter for solid bass, mid-range and highs. In addition, contour switches let you tailor the sound to suit your music and surround sound tastes. The contour switches let you tailor frequency responses to your room arrangement.

Is an 8-inch In-Ceiling the Right Size for You?
For rooms larger than 140 square feet, an 8" in-ceiling speaker is an excellent choice. The 8” cone delivers excellent frequency response (the range of musical tones a speaker can produce); plus, bass response or the ability of a speaker to crank out those low notes is vastly better than small cone sizes. An 8-inch speaker can be used in home theaters and distributed audio, which is where an 8-inch cone shines. After all, with whole house audio systems you can't add separate subwoofers all over the house so the added bass really makes a difference in sound quality.

What about Wiring?
Wiring is not included so you will need to purchase some. You should always follow your local building codes, but we do offer CL3/FT4 cable that is UL (fire) rated for all residential and most commercial in-wall and in-ceiling applications. This cable includes a heavy-duty outer jacket approved for in-wall/in-ceiling installation. It's very flexible as well which makes it easier to snake through the wall and ceiling rafters.
