The MTR-500 70V/100V Amplifier/Transformer is a unique problem-solver for residential and commercial applications. The OSD MTR-500 coverts an 8-ohm amplifier to a 70V/100V amp and allows multiple pairs of speakers to be run to a single amplifier. Different scenarios where the MTR-500 would be useful, for example would be an expanding business or retail establishment where more speakers must be added to the existing audio system. By connecting the MTR-500 amp transformer to the inputs of the existing 8 ohm, the installer can run additional 70V speakers with transformer taps without having to add another amp. The output of the MTR becomes a high impedance or 70V transformer. This unit is also ideal for both professional stage or PA applications that require running multiple pairs of speakers to a single amplifier.
