Digital Interchangeable Lens LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm / F1.4 ASPH. Based on the Micro Four Thirds System Standard
The LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm / F1.4 ASPH. (35 mm camera equivalent: 50mm), based on the Micro Four Thirds System standard, features outstanding brightness of F1.4 realized in the compact and light weight profile. The extraordinary brightness allows a beautiful soft focus for photo and video to be even more impressive and encourages users not to use the flash even in dimly-lit conditions. Certified with the name of world-renowned LEICA, the exceptional high image quality is guaranteed.
To the LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm / F1.4 ASPH., Panasonic’s Nano Surface Coating technology is newly adopted. Reflection is dramatically minimized at entire visual light range (380nm-780nm) by applying the extra-low refractive index coating with nano-sized structure on the surface of the lens. It results in the super clear picture with dramatic reduction of ghost and flare.
The lens system comprising of nine elements in seven groups uses two aspherical lenses and one UHR (Ultra High Refractive) index lens. The newly developed UHR index lens and glass mold aspherical lenses achieve uniformed description from the center to the edges.
The versatile 25mm of focal distance (Equivalent to 50mm on a 35mm camera) is suitable for wide variety of occasions. Users are free to utilize the composition, perspective and aperture control from daily snapshots including sceneries like sunsets and dimly-lit indoor shots to the deliberately creative shots taking advantage of its beautiful soft focus.
When mounted on the LUMIX G Micro System cameras, this lens can take maximum advantage of contrast AF system, which boasts both high accuracy and high speed for more stress-free shooting. Notably the performance of AF is by far superior to the phase-difference AF when fast lens with smaller F value is used. Seven blades give the aperture a rounded shape that produces an attractively smooth effect in out-of-focus areas when shooting at larger aperture settings. Highly reliable metal mount is durable enough for repeated exchange of lens.
