<b>3CCD Camera System</b>
At the heart of this camcorder is the 3CCD camera system - the type used in professional video cameras. Playing a critical role in picture quality, this system provides exceptionally pure, faithful colour. Panasonic's advanced 3CCD system gives users the highest image quality in three different ways: colour depth, fine detail, and gradation (ensuring all tones in a colour pallet are enjoyed).
<b>Leica Dicomar Lens</b>
Picture quality is also enhanced by the legendary optical technology from world renowned Leica Dicomar lens. <b>Crystal Engine</b>
Panasonic's original Crystal Engine advanced image processing circuitry helps deliver maximum performance from the CCD camera system. The Crystal Engine - the brain of the camera - processes the signal from each of the 3 CCDs independently, giving both moving and still pictures outstanding quality.
<b>Optical Image Stabiliser</b>
The NVGS280 boasts the Optical Image Stabiliser (O.I.S) system, which compensates for the effect of hand shake as you shoot movie and still images - resulting in clear, sharp images. Gyrosensors detect the amount and direction of hand-shake and linear motors optically adjust the lenses as needed to compensate.
<b>Anti Ground Shooting (AGS) Function</b>
This function prevents you from shooting subjects that you did not intend to shoot by leaving the power on by mistake, or by filming the ground as you hold the camera by your side. This function ingeniously detects abnormal recording positions, and will automatically stop recording when such positions are detected, thus preventing wasteful use of battery power and media recording space.
