This Blu-ray player puts all the right cards on the table. It offers high-speed video and audio playback in numerous formats: from 3D Blu-ray discs, DVD, CD and SACD playback, to wireless streaming, as well as direct access to YouTube and to Picasa photo albums.
The new 1.5x View Scan with Audio function proves to be a very convenient feature, allowing you to scan the contents of a Blu-ray Disc while the audio is still understandable. This makes it a breeze to locate the part of the program you were looking for.
Wi-Fi Direct allows you to stream your favourite music and videos from your mobile device directly to the system – without needing a wireless router. When Wi-Fi Direct is enabled, you can activate Miracast – via a direct button on the remote – to mirror any content from your smartphone, tablet or PC. Use DLNA to select, stream and play videos and music stored on a compatible computer, media server, or mobile device.
Last, but not least, the user friendly iControlAV5 app allows you to control the BDP-170 directly from your smartphone. It is freely available from the App Store or via Google Play.
