Opticard 821 - USB 2.0 - 600 dpi
The new Plustek Opticard 821, a palm-size mobile A6 scanner, is packed with more advanced functions compared to its predecessor model opticard 820. Aside from scanning photo documents and business cards, it also scans all types of checks, as well as plastic embossed cards such as insurance cards, membership cards, social security cards and credit cards.
Business Card Management
Despite your occupation, networking is the most valuable assets each individual can obtain in any industry. In this fast changing environment, we cannot neglect the importance of management by digitization. The new OptiCard 821 is bundled with the BCR (Business Card Reader) which provides automatic recognition of company name, job title, person's name, address, telephone and fax number as shown on the pre-scanned business cards. Users then have the flexibility of saving the files to Excel or sending the files to Outlook for further categorization. Of course, any further change or addition of information can be arranged directly through the BCR software.
Image processing
Beside the business card management, the OptiCard 821 features a scanning area of 105mm x 148mm and supports a maximum of 500mm through TWAIN. Based on the bundled image-processing software, the OptiCard 821 is able to process multi-image such as the conversion of photographs to digital image in terms of providing users the options to save, edit, print or recover the integrity of the original images. The combination of OptiCard 821 and image-processing software generates all-around and sophisticated functions of image editing, categorizing and searching.
Additional Usage
The included document image software enables users to convert Office file (Word, Excel, Power Point) to "Searchable PDF" or scan numerous JPG files to a single PDF simultaneously without any additional installation of PDF software. With the software, users can view the content windows and turn the traditional document management into a trouble-free task.
What is "Searchable PDF"
Searchable PDF indicates that the scanned document (resulting in PDF format) has been processed via optical character recognition (OCR) and users can search the entire file for occurrence of a word or phrase. In the situation when millions of files are being piled up, "Searchable PDF" provides the simplest way to categorize all the documents and allows users to obtain the necessary files in a short period of time.
