Digital Camera Lens 50-150mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM, 1340g
Large aperture telephoto zoom lens, designed exclusively for digital SLR cameras giving the classic 70-200mm focal length.
This large aperture telephoto zoom lens incorporates Sigma’s original OS (Optical Stabiliser) function which offers the use of shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower than would otherwise be possible. Six SLD glass elements provide excellent correction for colour aberration. The Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting and provides high image quality throughout the entire zoom range. HSM ensures fast and quiet auto-focusing as well as full-time manual focusing capability. This lens incorporates an inner focusing and inner zooming system. The overall length of the lens does not change during focusing and zooming, ensuring convenient handling. This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 80cm and maximum magnification of 1:6.3. The rounded 9 blade diaphragm creates an attractive blur to the out of focus areas of the image. Sigma’s APO TELE CONVERTER can also be used with this lens if a longer focal length is required.
<b>Sigma’s own unique OS technology</b>
This lens is equipped with Sigma’s unique OS function. This system allows the photographer to use shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower than would otherwise be possible. As compensation for camera shake is visible in the view finder, the photographer can easily check for accurate focus and ensure there is no subject movement. The Optical Stabiliser unit has two modes, Mode 1 is ideal for general photography and Mode 2 is designed for panning subjects such as racing cars.
<b>Superior image quality</b>
Six SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements provide excellent correction for colour aberration. The lens design provides correction for spherical aberration, ensuring high image quality throughout the entire zoom range.
<b>F2.8 Large aperture throughout the entire zoom range</b>
The narrow depth of field enables photographers to emphasise the subject and the large aperture provides a bright viewfinder image. Together with the OS function, they help the photographer confirm accurate focusing. The wide aperture also allows for faster shutter speeds making this lens perfect for sports photography.
<b>Reduced ghosting and flare</b>
The Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting and provides high image quality even when the subject is backlit.
<b>HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor)</b>
The Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) ensures a silent, high-speed AF function as well as full-time manual focusing capability.
<b>Close focusing capability</b>
This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 80cm and maximum magnification of 1:6.3, making it ideal for close-up photography.
<b>Convenient handling</b>
This lens incorporates an inner focusing and inner zooming system. The overall length of the lens does not change during focusing and zooming, ensuring convenient handling. The inner focusing system also eliminates front lens rotation, making the lens particularly suitable for using circular polarising filters. A removable tripod collar (TS-21) is included as a standard component.
<b>Rounded diaphragm</b>
This lens has a rounded 9 blade diaphragm which creates an attractive blur to the out of focus areas of the image.
<b>APO Tele-Converter (Optional)</b>
The addition of Sigma’s 1.4x EX DG APO or 2x EX DG APO TELE CONVERTER produces a 70-210mm F4 AF telephoto zoom lens or a 100-300mm F5.6 AF telephoto zoom lens respectively.
