The EF-530 DG ST is an easy-to-use flash that provides a large amount of light, featuring a guide number of up to 53/m w/ISO 100. Compatible with AF single-lens reflex cameras of all popular manufacturers, this flash unit allows fully automatic photography with automatic TTL exposure control. In addition to the automatic mode, it also provides two power levels in manual mode: full and 1/16 power. This electronic flash combines a wide array of functions with ease of handling and includes an Autozoom function that automatically sets the optimum illumination angle between 24mm and 105mm, as well as offering bounce and swivel capability.

Autozoom function for changing the illumination angle
This function delivers flash light by automatically setting the optimum illumination angle, in accordance with the lens' focal length, in a range from 24 mm to 105 mm. When used with the built-in Wide Panel, the flash can cover the angle of up to 17-mm ultra wideangle lens.

Automatic TTL exposure control
Advanced photographic techniques, such as diffused lighting photography with a diffuser attached to the flash head, or bounce photography with the light pointed at the ceiling or wall to soften the shadows cast on the subject without directly illuminating the subject with flash light, can be performed while the automatic exposure control function is preserved.

Bounce flash function, with movable flash head
The flash head can be tilted up by up to 90 degrees , to the left by 180 degrees , or to the right by 90 degrees . Bounce photography, in which light is reflected off a white wall or the ceiling or a reflector, increases your range of photographic expression. As the flash head can also be tilted down by 7 degrees, light can be effectively used even for close-up shots.

Auto Power-Off function prevents wasted power
Even if the flash is left with the power on, it automatically shuts off if it is not operated for a certain length of time. This conserves battery power in flash photography. When the shutter button is depressed halfway, the power turns on again and charging resumes.
