10/100 Parallel Port Print Server with IPv6
The SX-3100 is a compact multiprotocol print server that connects almost any parallel printer to a 10Base-T/100Base-T network. Compared to the competition, the SX-3100 offers these advantages:
- Concurrent IPv4 and IPv6 support to ensure compatibility with current and future TCP/IP networks
- Supports ThinPrint print data compression for use with Citrix MetaFrame and Microsoft Terminal Server environments
- Advanced configuration features like IP access control lists and HP Web JetAdmin compatibility
The palm-sized SX-3100 print server is compatible with virtually any printer that has a parallell interface. Proven in major installations throughout the worldk the SX-3100 supports all major network operating systems and network printing protocols. The SX-3100 is the world's first print server officially certified by IPv6 Forum under IPv6 Ready Logo Phase 1 program, which ensures that it will be compatible with current and future TCP/IP networks.
The SX-3100 supports a number of advanced capabilities that make it especially suitable for enterprise printing applications. It works with HP Web JetAdmin and SNMP-based network management systems, and it can monitor for the printer status for paper out or error conditions and send an E-mail message to you when such conditions occur. The SX-3100 can also retrieve E-mail from the mail server and print it on the networked printer without requiring a PC. In addition, the SX-3100 provides access control using IP filtering to prevent unauthorized use of network printers.
The SX-3100 supports ThinPrint network printing technology as a firmware upgrade. Designed for server-based computing environments like Windows Terminal Services and Citrix MetaFrame, ThinPrint network printing technology provides bandwidth-optimized print solutions and print data compression technology that can work through firewalls and can operate efficiently even with very low bandwidth connections (please note that IPX/SPX and AppleTalk are not supported on SX-3100 ThinPrint models.
