The SMC7204BRB is an all-in-one ADSL modem Annex B- compatible, 4-port 10/100 switch and NAT-based router. This simple-to-use multitalented SPI True Firewall router plugs directly into the ADSL line for instant connectivity to network resources and the Internet. An integrated switch lets you directly connect up to four computers or any combination of four computers, Access Points, or printers. The NAT-based Firewall protects the network with business-class security against intruders, including logs and alerts of break-in attempts. The Full-Rate ADSL SMC7204BRB is feature-rich and compatible with all leading DSLAMs supporting ADSL/ATM standards such as handshaking (G.994.1) – for Annex A, RFC1483 Encapsulation (IP, Bridging & Encapsulated Routing), Traffic shaping (UBR, CBR), PPP over Ethernet (RFC2516). The SMC7204BRB also offers robust security features: Password-protected configuration access, authentication (PAP/CHAP) with PPP (RFC1334, RFC1994), NAT-based Firewall, Virtual Server Support, PPTP, L2TP, and IPSec pass-through.
