10BASE-T to 10BASE-FL (MMF, ST) Media Converter The SMCFLST media converter was specifically designed to offer network integrators a solution to migrate from a copper-based Ethernet to a fiber based Ethernet. Migration or expansion of existing networks can now be achieved with minimum cost and complexity. Connecting the SMCFLST converter to fiber segments can extend distances of up to 2km between networking nodes. This can be achieved by a direct connection between the converter and a fiber based networking device. Its compact modular design facilitates deployment in a narrow desktop location or wall-mount to save space. Several converters can be simultaneously installed by using the SMC-12MCC 19" rack-mount chassis.
