AIT-3Ex external tape backup drive U160 SCSI, 390GB (2.6:1), 63GB/h. AIT-3Ex is the ideal upgrade drive for current AIT users. With backwards compatibility with all of the lower capacity generations of AIT (Read: AIT-E Turbo, AIT-1, AIT-1T, AIT-2; Read/Write: AIT-3, AIT-2T), you can upgrade with the confidence that you can still use your old AIT tapes.

Thanks to high capacity 150GB media and 18MB/s (63GB/h) performance, you don't have to compromise while keeping backward compatibility. Not only AIT-3Ex has been designed with previous AIT formats in mind but it's also ready for your next step. When your storage requirement grows beyond 150GB, AIT-3Ex tapes are compatible with AIT-4 and AIT-5 drives.

AIT-3Ex drives are tested for compatibility with servers from HP, IBM, Dell and Fujitsu-Siemens.

The WORM tape capability allows companies that require non-alterable media to gain up to a 20x cost advantage over other WORM optical and hard disk based technologies.
