Heart Rate, Altimeter, Barometer, Compass, 55 g, Black
The Suunto Vector HR is your tool for peak performance, whether you’re already on the mountain or training to get there. Armed with an altimeter, barometer, electronic compass, and heart rate monitor, you’ll have the information you need to make responsible decisions in the great, vertical outdoors.
Heart Rate Measurement
It’s not just the external conditions that matter when you’re climbing: what’s going on inside your body can make the difference between a great adventure and a miserable ordeal. Set HR zone alarms to let you know when your heart rate is climbing faster than you are—or when your training regimen is too easy. Training for a climb with the HR monitor gives you an objective measure of exertion, whether you’re doing a long, steady hike, or short intervals of intense bursts of energy in the gym. You’ll also be able to avoid overtraining by monitoring your resting HR first thing in the morning.
Suunto Comfort Belt
Made from soft textile materials, the Suunto Comfort Belt comes equipped with unique traction strips to keep it in place, eliminating the need to over-tighten. The thin length-adjustment buckles minimize the risk of friction and abrasions, allowing you to train with minimal interruption. The Suunto Comfort Belt features a closing buckle conveniently located in the front, which also doubles as an easy-to-reach key for the battery cover.
Altimeter
The altimeter features a range up to 9,000 m / 29,500 ft, putting all 14 of the world's 8,000+ meter summits within your reach. It measures your vertical speed, and works with the HR monitor so you can see the physiological impact of both altitude and vertical rate of movement. You can set altitude alarms to remind you when you’re reaching another limit, while the automatic 24-hour memory stores the altitude and ascent/descent rate for every hour, and lets you record other intervals. With the logbook, you can see and compare all of your ups and downs as it records your total and cumulative vertical ascents and descents.
Barometer
The Suunto Vector HR displays real-time barometric pressure and temperature, giving you a heads-up on weather conditions. Check the weather trend graph or the past four days’ barometric data, which is recorded automatically. When the reference altitude is set correctly, the instrument also shows the present sea level pressure, making it easier for you to read and understand the barometric pressure at high altitudes. Just don’t forget that in the mountains, the detected barometric pressure also changes when you are moving in a vertical direction, which can make predicting the weather a bit more complicated.
Compass
The digital compass guides you with cardinal or half-cardinal points and a north-south arrow. Set the compass to track a bearing of your choosing, and your Suunto Vector HR helps you get around in unknown terrain. The declination adjustment function allows you to correct the difference between true north and magnetic north for a more accurate reading.¨
Time
The Suunto Vector HR displays the current time in 12- or 24-hour format and includes three daily alarms and a calendar. Use the chronograph to support your training sessions with the split-time stopwatch, countdown timer, and interval timer.
