i5 AW White Speakers, with Inductive Coupling Technology driver
The Tannoy i5AW is a compact speaker that has been designed to be both sonically and cosmetically pleasing in a wide range of applications; from background music in public spaces to live keyboard monitoring onstage and outdoor music systems to large distributed audio systems in hotels, malls and sports venues. The 127mm (5”) ICT™ (Inductive Coupling Technology) driver utilizes a wireless electromagnetic tweeter that does not require a crossover and cannot be burned out from heavy or abusive use. Weatherproof to IP33CS in EN60529 the speaker uses a driver with a plastic cone, nitrile rubber surround and a robust moulded polypropylene enclosure to ensure long-term durability.
The Tannoy i5 AW is a high quality All Weather installation loudspeaker based around a 127mm (5") point source ICT™ transducer. Suited for applications indoors or out, the i5 AW consistently delivers a powerful performance under a wide range of environmental conditions. The cabinet is weatherproof to IP33CS in EN60529.
The design of the ICT drive unit addresses the two most common component failures experienced in background music and sound reinforcement systems: the tweeter and the crossover. ICT or Inductive Coupling Technology uses a wireless electromagnetic tweeter that does not require a crossover and cannot be burned out from heavy use or misuse. The ICT dome uses a plastic cone and nitrile rubber surround, further enhancing durability and long term reliability. The 90° conical dispersion of the point source ICT driver allows either vertical or horizontal mounting without compromising sound quality.
The optimally tuned, molded polypropylene enclosure maximizes bass response and tonal balance. The transformer and low impedance settings (30, 15, 7.5, 3.75 Watts) are selectable via a rotary switch on the front baffle.
For simple and effective installation, there is a choice of the MB5Y and MB5B hardware options allowing the loudspeaker to blend into almost any setting.
The i5 AW is available in Black or White in these versions: the i5 AW for use in 6ohm operation and the i5T AW, supplied with a THP 30 Watt transformer for use in 70.7V or 100V line systems; and as the i5 AW T-60, supplied with a THP 60 Watt transformer.
