TY 149, 300 - 1300 rpm, 26.2 - 104.8 m³/h, 17 - 24.9 dB(A)
True to our motto “innovated – not imitated” we present with the TY 149 a silent running fan with sleeve bearing, featuring our innovative TY design. The minimum fan speed has been reduced to just 300 rpm, which results in even more silent running of the fan and makes the fan almost inaudible during normal operations.
The fan design of the TY 149 - already known from the Silver Arrow ITX - corresponds to the desire of users to realize the greatest possible airflow rate at the lowest possible noise. Naturally fans with a larger diameter will produce a higher capacity at the same speed and/orthe same noise level than smaller models. As the height of the CPU cooler is limited due to the available width of the PC case, in general 120 mm fans are used on most coolers. Larger fans often collide with adjacent other board components, or protrude beyond the heat sink.
The TY 149 has the dimensions 140 x 152 x 26.5 mm; the mounting points are identical to those of conventional 120 mm fans. Owing to its sophisticated design, the inner diameter of the fan is even slightly greater than that of a conventional 140 mm fan (!). The truncated frame of the fan can be mounted on various coolers that are designed for standard 120 mm fans. A requirement is that the fan is mounted directly on the side facing the heat sink. Fan brackets which engage over the entire frame are usually incompatible. When using it as a case fan you should examine whether sufficient space is available to the sides.
The speed range of the temperature-controlled PWM-fan is 300 - 1,300 rpm - the flow rate varies between 15.4 and 61.7 CFM. For a sufficiently silent operation, the model uses seven blades in a special "torpedo" design. Together with the optimized wings and streamlined frame design, this causes a particularly effective and at the same time also very quiet air flow.
In order to guarantee a long-term low-noise operation, the TY 149 makes use of a silent-running sleeve bearing. The monitoring & control the fan speed is done via the motherboard (4-pin PWM connector).
