In banking environments, the device helps to comply with more stringent financial regulations (Sarbanes-Oxley, Basel II, HIPAA) and enhanced security requirements.
Both OTP and PKI technology can be used to digitally sign transactions.
Secured browsers can be stored on the device. Herewith, DIGIPASS KEY 860 offers new opportunities to combat phishing and man-in-the-middle attacks.
DIGIPASS KEY 860 is used in conjunction with DIGIPASS CertiID and can be integrated within any application that supports PKCS#11, MS CAPI standards and CNG.

<b>PKI functionality</b>
DIGIPASS KEY 860 combines the security of a smart card with the flexibility of a card reader.
Generation of private and public keys is managed on the device. Keys cannot be exported, offering increased security.
Digital certificates from any Certificate Authority can also be generated and stored on the device.
<b>OTP functionality</b>
With one push on a button, DIGIPASS KEY 860 will generate a one-time password. Users log-on with this dynamic password to securely access their applications.
<b>Secure USB Storage</b>
DIGIPASS KEY 860 has three predefined memory partitions:
- a partition with CD ROM capability for software installation
- an encrypted partition for secure data storage
- a free hard disk partition to store non-confidential information
