4 Port PCIe USB 3.0 Interface Expansion Card for PCs and Macs
Add four SuperSpeed USB 3.0/2.0 ports to your PC or Mac® to power, charge, and/or transfer data external hard drives, CD/DVD drives, MP3 players, printers, scanners, webcams, game controllers, digital cameras, and other USB devices. When used with an external drive, each port can deliver up to 5Gb/s (600MB/s) data rates for transferring and/or backing up music, photos, and HD movies.
The VisionTek 4 Port PCIe USB 3.0 Interface Expansion Card lets you easily add four SuperSpeed USB 3.0/2.0 ports to your PC or Mac® through an available PCI Express slot.
These ports can be used to connect your computer to external hard drives, CD/DVD drives, MP3 players, printers, scanners, webcams, game controllers, digital cameras, and other devices. With each port providing 900mA of bus power, you can use many of your desktop devices with needing a power adapter. Each port is also hot swappable, so you can attach and disconnect external drives as desired. When used with an external drive, each port can deliver up to 5Gb/s (600MB/s) data rates for transferring and/or backing up music, photos, and HD movies.
Plug and Play Connectivity
It’s never been easier to expand the capabilities of your PC or Mac. Just install the interface expansion card into an available PCIe slot (2.0 preferred) and then run the included driver CD if using a Windows based machine. Use with Macs is Plug and Play driverless.
Money-Saving Compatibility
With backward compatibility to USB 2.0/1.0 standards, you can connect all the devices you presently own and not have to buy new ones.
Benchmark Proven Performance
On a 2009 Mac Pro running OS X 10.9, the interface expansion card delivers over 356MB/s Read and over 338MB/s Write data transfers via a VisionTek mSATA 480GB SSD installed in a VisionTek mSATA mini enclosure.
On a PC equipped with an ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z (990FX chipset) motherboard using an AMD 8350 CPU running Windows 8, the interface expansion card delivers over 317MB/s Read and over 296MB/s Write data transfers with a VisionTek mSATA 240GB SSD installed in a VisionTek mSATA mini enclosure.
