Many 1/4 inch threads allow you to adjust the cage to your needs. E.g., you can mount a microphone, a magic arm with a monitor or a video light.

Extremely sturdy, with grips and opening for battery compartment
The video cage is extremely sturdy. It is equipped with two grips which allow a comfortable holding of your video DSLR. There is an opening for the battery compartment allowing you to replace the batteries without removing the camera from the cage. The camera is mounted on the rubberized camera plate via its 1/4 inch thread. The screw of the cage is fastened with the included allen key.
