8000 Volts, HDMI 1.3b, HEC, ARC, HDCP, VESA, DTV/HDTV
The WyreStorm EXP-HDMI-SURGE is an in-line device that protects any connected HDMI equipment from damage caused by electro-static discharge and surges & spikes from mains or lightning strikes.
The EXP-HDMI-SURGE is specially designed for an HDMI interface, such as HDPVR, HDMI Home Theatre Applications, HDMI distribution via splitters and matrix switchers, LCD/LED/Plasma displays and HD Projectors and can withstand up to and including 8KV of voltage surge.
The EXP-HDMI-SURGE acts as the final line of defence against damaging voltage spikes that jeopardizes your HDMI devices to help ensure the integrity of your HDMI installation.
Damage to HDMI ports due to voltage discharged when connecting cables with equipment powered-on or unstable HDMI port voltages can be a common and frustrating aspect of any integration, with the resulting time needed for installation or calls backs and parts replacement equally damaging to profit margins.
The EXP-HDMI-SURGE protects your HDTV, Projector, AVR, HDMI Splitters, Extenders, Matrix and any HDMI device against voltage discharges and spikes including electrostatic, cable discharge events and lightning that cause electrical transients up to 15000 Volts (air) and 8000 Volts (Contact).
With full support of 3D, HEC and ARC passthrough from compatible source and sink devices, the EXP-HDMI-SURGE is active on all HDMI TMDS channels with lossless signal transmission and acts as the final and best line of defense against ESD and lightning surge.
Please Note: Proper protection of an a/v system involves the placement of accurately configured surge equipment on all externally connected wires, cables and devices. The EXP-HDMI-SURGE greatly increases the level of protection from EMI and voltage discharges up to 8kV, but it does not provide 100% protection in all situations.
