Integrated System with Dual Front Speakers and Subwoofer

The YAS-93 combines two 6.5 cm [2-1/2”] cone speakers with a dual-driver (7.5 cm [3”] cones) subwoofer, driven by a digital amp with a total output of 120W. Yamaha's original Advanced Bass Extension Processing (surround mode only) delivers a surprising abundance of bass for the size, so you never feel the lack of strong bass sound. Although compact, its excellent structural design provides a large volume enclosure for both speakers and subwoofer. The result is powerful, high quality sound that makes TV and movies much more enjoyable.

Dual-Driver Subwoofer Powerfully Reproduces Bass Sounds

The dual-driver subwoofer employs large magnets and large-diameter voice coils to realise dynamic and robust bass sound reproduction. This ensures that the overall sound has a rich sense of presence, making movie effect sounds more realistic.

Bass Reflex Port Contributes to Deeper, Richer Bass

The YAS-93 employs a bass reflex port that has a straight shape and adequate length to provide outstanding bass response together with the large volume cabinet. The duct outlet is shaped like a trumpet bell, which reduces wind noise for better sound clarity.

Saran Net Grille Enhances Sound Definition

The grille protecting the speaker unit is a saran net that allows unimpeded sound flow. All sounds, including vocals and music, are clear and pleasant to listen to.

AIR SURROUND XTREME Provides Powerful Surround Sound

Compatible with Various Surround Sound Formats

TV Remote Repeater for Signal Transmission

Even if the YAS-93 blocks the TV’s remote control signal, the TV Remote Repeater on the back transmits the signal to the TV so operation is not affected.

Learning Function Allows Operation with the TV Remote Control

The YAS-93 can “learn” the TV remote control operation, so you can use the TV remote control to turn the YAS-93 on and off and to adjust its volume.

Clear Voice Makes Dialogue and Narrations Easy to Hear

UniVolume Maintains the Same Volume Level

Dolby Digital

Dolby Digital is a digital surround sound system that gives you completely independent multi-channel audio. With 3 front channels (front L/R and center), and 2 surround stereo channels, Dolby Digital provides 5 full-range audio channels. With an additional channel especially for bass effects, called LFE (Low Frequency Effect), the system has a total of 5.1-channels (LFE is counted as 0.1 channel). By using 2-channel stereo for the surround speakers, more accurate moving sound effects and surround sound environment are possible than with Dolby Surround. The wide dynamic range from maximum to minimum volume reproduced by the 5 full-range channels and the precise sound orientation generated using digital sound processing provide listeners with unprecedented excitement and realism. With this unit, any sound environment from monaural up to a 5.1-channel configuration can be freely selected for your enjoyment.

DTS Digital Surround

DTS digital surround was developed to replace the analog soundtracks of movies with a 6.1-channel digital sound track, and is now rapidly gaining popularity in movie theaters around the world. DTS, Inc. has developed a home theater system so that you can enjoy the depth of sound and natural spatial representation of DTS digital surround in your home. This system produces practically distortion-free 6-channel sound (technically, front left and right, center, surround left and right, and LFE 0.1 (subwoofer) channels for a total of 5.1 channels). This unit incorporates a DTS-ES decoder that enables 6.1-channel reproduction by adding the surround back channel to the existing 5.1-channel format.

Air Surround Xtreme

Unlike other "virtual surround" systems, when you listen to Yamaha's AIR SURROUND XTREME, you can actually identify sounds located around and behind you. You hear dialogue from a clear centre channel and other sounds from the front, specific sounds from the other channels to the sides and rear, and smooth sound movement around you. AIR SURROUND XTREME can even deliver surround sound from 7-channel sources.
