The DP8 LCD series offer innovative picture and audio technologies such as a W-XGA (1366 x 768) panel and JVC’s original 100Hz Clear Motion Drive. This was developed and launched for the first time in the world in 2005 and utilises user-friendly features to ensure a truly satisfying viewing experience. The renowned 100Hz Clear Motion Drive is an anti-blurring technology that promises silky smooth reproduction of images with rapid or complex movement and it helps to ensure that users always enjoy the best picture possible. To further ensure uncompromising picture reproduction, the DP8 series features dynamic backlight management for more natural grayscaling plus a DynaPix HD picture engine that promises genuine reproduction of contours, contrast, and colours in real-time.

To answer consumer demands, performance is now as stunning as the picture, JVC has equipped the DP8 series with its exclusive MaxxAudio feature — a powerful suite of psychoacoustic controls that includes MaxxTreble, MaxxBass, MaxxStereo and MaxxVolume, allowing viewers to enjoy rich, resonant audio. Operating convenience is enhanced by two HDMI CEC inputs that enable noise-free, direct transmission of digital audio and video content signals via a single cable and control of connected CEC compatible devices from a single remote controller.

PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS
100Hz Clear Motion Drive
As a common phenomenon with LCD panels, blurring or ghost images may appear regardless of the panel’s native resolution when there is rapid or complex movement across the screen. However, JVC’s original 100Hz Clear Motion Drive found on the DP8 series helps to alleviate this problem. By doubling the frame rate, 100Hz Clear Motion Drive effectively halves hold time from 20msec/frame to 10msec/frame, reducing motion blurring without affecting luminance and contrast. And due to the shorter frame rate, compensation can be applied for half the time, making it possible to realize a sharp rise (or higher overshoot) without causing ringing for a clear, well-defined picture.

Powerful One-chip DynaPix HD CPU
DynaPix HD helps to ensure highly detailed images with vivid colours and rich contrast thanks to its dedicated 32-bit CPU integrated in a single chip that performs complex picture controls such as brightness and darkness (contrast), gradations, and colour intensity within a scene simultaneously. Real-time picture control offered by the DynaPix HD CPU is capable of reproducing a three-dimensional picture with more depth and sharpness, allowing the viewer to experience a new level of quality not available on conventional TVs.

DynaPix HD N/R (Noise Reduction) System
Picture noise is always annoying and while many believe that it is primarily a problem with analogue signals, signal noise can also be found in high-definition digital sources as well. However, the DynaPix HD N/R system eliminates all kinds of noise regardless of its source.

W-XGA Panel
Very high luminance and contrast levels are just two of the advantages DP8 series has to offer as these models feature a high-definition W-XGA panel with 1280-dot x 768-dot pixels that provides a bright picture as high as 500cd/m2. The panel also features dynamic backlight management, which enables improved reproduction of black and grayscaling to provide pictures with three-dimensionality and higher contrast that enhances any scene.

Two HDMI Inputs
Operating convenience is enhanced by two HDMI CEC inputs that enable noise-free, direct transmission of digital audio and video content signals via a single cable and control of connected CEC compatible devices from a single remote controller.

MaxxAudio
As audio from TV speakers can be muffled or flat without the addition of external sound systems, MaxxAudio with its parametric equalizer and suite of four features — MaxxBass, MaxxTreble, MaxxStereo and MaxxVolume — drastically improves audio performance. MaxxBass and MaxxTreble compensate low and high frequencies to widen the frequency band while the parametric equalizer boosts flat audio characteristics caused by the limited output of TV speakers. MaxxStereo naturally expands the audio source for enhanced stereo reproduction and MaxxVolume maintains uniform output by reducing audio spikes that can occur during commercial breaks. Both MaxxBass and MaxxAudio will transform existing parameters of TV sound, making them the ideal audio technologies for today’s big-screen LCD televisions. MaxxAudio can be set in three modes — low, mid, high, or can be turned off completely.

Powerful Sound from Twin Oblique Cone Speakers
The bass-reflex, Twin Oblique Cone Speaker system (for LT-42DP8; Oblique Cone Speakers for LT-37DP8/32DP8) incorporates two innovative speakers in one unit. Originally developed for JVC’s hi-fi speakers, the off-centred voice coil of the oblique shaped cone speaker delivers sound towards the viewer. Configuration of the speaker has improved from the existing type thanks to a wider track cone that delivers better frequency response in upper range and wider range of bass. What’s more, the bass reflex duct on the back of the speaker features a curvilinear form opening that help to reduce whistling sound. This unique speaker system together with MaxxAudio help to ensure outstanding audio performance in any viewing situation.

Eco Mode
To reduce power consumption, Eco Mode automatically adjusts screen brightness according to ambient light levels of the room, helping to decrease eye fatigue and save energy.

Message Board
Important daily messages can be stored on the new on-screen Message Board and inputted directly via the TV remote control. When the TV power is turned on, messages will appear on top of the program being watched.
