242S IV One-channel Video Server, 30/25 fps, simultaneous Motion JPEG & MPEG-4, advanced event handling
Intelligent video & audio analyses inside
AXIS 242S IV Video Server is a one-channel video server equipped with a DSP (Digital Signal Processor), dedicated to processing advanced algorithms in intelligent video applications. Since video and audio analyses are performed inside the video server, only the essential information needs to be sent over the network.
What is intelligent video?
The intelligence in IV applications is the mathematical analysis of video images and the use of the acquired data. This approach has significant advantages:
Reduced bandwidth consumption: When the intelligent video application is integrated into the network video device, less data needs to be sent over the network.
Efficient use of manpower: Less false alarms since an intelligent system works with greater precision to identify security threats.
Better support for decision-making: Simultaneous audio and video analyses. For example, the sound of breaking glass can trigger a PTZ network camera to automatically position itself in the right direction, once the system has pre-identified the sound to be of sufficient concern.
