Network Video decoder AXIS 292
Decodes digital video & audio streams for analog systems
The AXIS 292 Network Video Decoder can convert one stream of MPEG-4, MPEG-2 or Motion JPEG video and audio from up to 128 Axis video sources into analog video signals. This allows analog video devices such as regular TV sets, analog monitors and existing analog video switches to be connected to an Axis IP-based video system.
Via an Ethernet network such as a LAN or corporate network, the AXIS 292 takes a stream of digital video and audio from a specified Axis network camera or video server, and converts it in real-time into high quality, analog signals. Sensitive video streams can be encrypted using HTTPS.
When used in combination with Axis video servers (such as the AXIS 250S MPEG-2), AXIS 292 decoders can quickly and cost-effectively connect two analog systems at different locations via a LAN/MAN/WAN Ethernet network. Users would be able to use existing video matrices and other analog technology to receive video and audio from distant analog cameras or systems as though they were placed locally with the operator even though they might be located in a different city. See schematic.
The AXIS 292 is ideal for retail applications, campus security and city center surveillance.
Features:
* Decodes network video and audio without the need of a PC * Provides one channel of video and simplex audio * Supports both composite and Y/C (S-VHS) video * Supports all MPEG-4, MPEG-2 and Motion JPEG based Axis products; AXIS 292 can automatically detect the format used * Supports both NTSC and PAL video standards * Capable of decoding video at full frame rate (30/25 fps) * Built-in Web server for administration * Sequence mode for multiple video sources * Supports secure management and encrypted video streams * Analog video resolution of more than 500 TV lines (depending on the quality of the video source)Decodes digital video & audio streams for analog systems
